New Years Update
I had Charlie at the dealers right before christmas, after receiving several stone cracks on the windshield.
I got a new windshield with a gradient tint and replaced the defective xenon headlight. Sorry to say, the mechanics forgot to clear the errors from the defective headlight on the ecu and adjusted the headlights. They didn’t notice that the leveling system wasn’t working due to the previous errors still in place on the ecu.
Thanks to lindiman and his magic laptop the errors are cleared and sort of all is well. I adjusted the headlights on my own, but it seems I could turn them a little higher. I still have to replace the drivers side headlight cleaning system but eventhough the spray nozzle is cracked, it hasn’t come off yet. This is my project for saturdays garage day at 2mDs.
I took charlie in to the workshop again, as he is developing rattling and whining noises from the engine compartment. The tech diagnosed faulty engine mounts and scheduled repairs for next tuesday.
I’ve been thinking about a complete redesign for charlie and sort of decided on the basic design already. It needs a little love and work yet, but here is a quick scetch based on MINIs R56 roof designer
I asked a couple of local vinyl guys for a guestimate, but all of them weren’t willing to do that design. One of MINI²s members has done something similar and is willing to help me out. Which means I’ll have to drive charlie to Hamburg to get him redecorated.
I’ll keep you informed;)
