TÜV renewed and GLP comming up

It’s racing time again ;)

As Charlie turned 5 in April I had to take him for technical inspection (TÜV) by the end of this month.

I did so on monday and was a bit nervous, as my first aid kit was beyond the expiration date, Charlie has a stone chip in the windshield and the exhaust is strictly speaking not street legal.

I had an appointment for 08:00 for the general inspection, emissions testing and acceptance testing of the new brake lines. As I slapped my stack of certificates and papers on the counter, the clerk looked around for an inspector to do the checks but suddenly all 3 guys were terribly busy and advised the clerk to wait for the supervisor as my brake lines needed acceptance testing.

The supervisor came into the office at about 08:30, saw the stack of charlie’s papers and wanted to rush into his office, but the clerk held him back, gave him the papers and offered a cup of coffee. ;)

By about 09:00 the supervisor was done with the papers and actually started the inspection.

He overlooked said expiration date, rock chip and exhaust, but found, that my xenon headlights were set too low with the smaller summer tires. Other than that Charlie’s a healthy rascal, the brake lines are found to be fit for street use and his emissions are fine. So he’s fit to drive the roads for another two years and at about 10:10h I was ready to go.

So I’ll be racing the Nürburgring Nordschleife on Sat. 05/31and this time Axel will operate the stopwatches.

I really look forward to do laps on the Nordschleife again and hope we can reach the goal of finishing 12 laps in ranking without any damages to Charlie.
