Charlies wellness day
I returned from charlies wellnes day yesterday.
We drove off at roughly 7 a.m. and drove to Sexau, to get Charlies xenon headlights fixed (again).
As I reported earlier the automatic range adjustment was out of order.
So I checked in and handed charlie over to the mechanic who started exchanging the headlights immediately. He was done in under one hour, cleared the errors in the ECU and adjusted the headlights. I asked him to check if he could swap the HID burner from the defective headlight to the old headlight to get a better match in colors. It seems that MINI changed the facelift HIDs in 2006 as the burners were not compatible with my older 2005 xenon headlight. Bummer…
But I have a working headlights and that’s just great.
In the meantime SevenCooperS arrived, to get an oil service done to to his soon to go R56 MCS. Since the mechanic was alone in the workshop we decided to leave the car at the garage and pick it up on the way back to take the stress out of the whole operation ;)
SevenCooperS, minipu and I drove off to visit SirRichi from autobrill in Grenchen, which is about an 3/4 hours drive from Basel in Switzerland. While Richis employee detailed and sealed my MINI we had a cup of coffee and a piece of Schwarzwälder Kirsch ;) So Charlie’s shiny, spotless and fit for the winter.
On the way back, we first stopped at the dealer to pick up the R56 MCS and continued to our favorite steak restaurant for a steak.
During the day, I handed my winter wheels over to minipu, to get the two new tires mounted and balanced. I’ll pick up the wheels next week, as we’re repeating the procedure with Lady Heather and this time missis@ will join us to get her elwood serviced.
