1 day to go: getting closer

It seems I will be flying tomorrow. Air Canada called to confirm the flight, and I’m starting to get busy packing my stuff.

I tried to check in online, but the system won’t let me. I’ll try later on at the airport and will also try to drop off my luggage too.

But I ran into a moment of shock, when I rechecked my papers after making myself a cup of coffee.

My passport is still valid, but when I moved to Rüsselsheim in 2005, I forgot to have the residence changed in my passport. So knowing how the US imigration officials are, I rang the public affairs office and got hold of a nice lady working after regular opening hours and she gladly changed my passport for me and I was back home before my cup coffee was cold. Hooray! Note to self: Send her a thank-you card from the dragon…

I borrowed a Canon DSLR for my trip and for once I will try to read the manual. I’ve got a lot of time on the plane. ;)

Speaking of planes: my first leg tomorrow will be aboard an Airbus A330 and the real good news is, they have a power supply for every group of seats so I’m able to charge my iPhone on the flight. If the movie sucks I can at least listen to some decent music and play a couple of games.

Now I’m back to packing and looking for my gear to take with me.
